Locating the Cheapest Airline Tickets

With summer approaching many families are eager to start looking for the best places to find airfare; to destinations like Florida, Caribbean, Mexico, and other places to catch fun in the sun.

The internet provides numerous resources in locating discounted airfare. But website to locate discount airline tickets is Travel By Deals. TravelByDeals.com publishes internet travel specials for airline tickets, cruises, hotels, vacations, and rental cars.
As the price of airline tickets has increased with the cost of fuel, airline bankruptcies, consolidations and airline closings, the market has decreased and fares are higher. The top airlines to find the lowest price on airline tickets are all low-fare carriers who are now setting the bar for traditional airlines to follow.

Spirit Airlines – Spirit Airlines may be a small airline with a hub in Fort Lauderdale, FL. But they fly to a lot of destinations in the Caribbean, and Mexico. With an impressive streak of deals, Spirit always impresses consumers with flights as low as $9, which often occurs bi-monthly. On a weekly basis you should be able to find fares from Spirit as low as $29 if you catch their “Syber Specials”

Airtran Airways - With most of the United States covered, Airtran can get you where you need to go. Visit travel sites weekly and your likely to see their discounted $44 specials. They do not service markets outside the United States except for Grand Bahama Island, but if Florida, New York, Vegas, or California is your destination you should consider Airtran Airways.

And the last airline to top the list in finding discount airline tickets is Jetblue Airways – Customer service and low fares all wrapped up in a blue and white plane, Jetblue has wonderful discounted fares. Jetblue not only has discounted fares, but offers FREE in-flight entertainment (Direct TV Satellite Monitors) at every seat. Jetblue serves a lot of destinations like the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. This fairly new discount carrier always has fares from $49 and they also cover a lot Northern America.

These wonderful deals and more are always published online at http://www.travelbydeals.com Travel By Deals is the premier internet publisher of travel deals from the best names in travel. We do not endorse these airlines. We at Travel By Deals observed a trend in these airlines providing discount travel accommodations for consumers.

Cheap International Plane Tickets

The best place to buy cheap international plane tickets is online. We've tried travel agencies and they can't compete with the discount ticket websites. You can search google ("cheap airfare South America", for example), or go straight to one of the well-known sites, like Expedia, Travelocity, Cheap Tickets, Hotwire or Priceline.

I just did a quick search for the cheapest airfare from Tucson, Arizona, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, using the five sites mentioned. They ranged from $1221 down to $873, and there were fares as high as $3728. Hotwire happened to have the cheapest, but they were the worst of the five when I searched for a domestic flight earlier. You cannot say which service will find the cheapest international plane tickets from week to week. My number one money-saving tip is to always check several websites when shopping for inexpensive flights.

My Accidental $1000 Discovery

Before going to Ecuador, I searched several websites that deal in cheap international plane tickets. The cheapest airfare from Traverse City, Michigan to Quito, was $1720. Out of curiosity, I checked Miami to Quito, and it was only $400. Airfare from Traverse City to Miami was $300. Book two separate flights and save more than $1000! The discount sites aren't set up to check in this way (yet), so you have to do this on your own.

If your first flight is late and you miss the second, you may not get a refund, but it is still cheaper (every time I checked) to just book a flight to Miami and catch a flight to Quito without a reservation, thus avoiding this problem. This strategy is best for those in towns without international airports. If you live in Miami, you already have cheap international airfare.

Courier Flights

As an air courier, you can get really cheap international plane tickets. Courier companies ship material in the luggage space of an aircraft passenger because it can be quicker, cheaper, and more reliable than sending the shipment unaccompanied, since checked luggage bypasses many of the typical customs delays. The courier company begins by purchasing airfare, and then they resell the plane tickets to you. In exchange for your luggage space, they give you a discount on the airfare.

An Example Of A Courier Flight

I saved over $150 on my plane tickets this way when I went to Ecuador the first time. I had to walk several suitcases of car parts through customs, but there was a representative of the courier company on either end, and I did get to look inside the luggage, so I knew what I was carrying. I had to carry a plane propeller on the return trip, but it wasn't too much trouble, and made a good story.

Limitations To Courier Travel

You generally can only be an air courier if you travel alone. Once in a while, a courier company will have opportunities for flights on or near the same date. Otherwise, your travel partner can pay full fare on the same flight. You also can usually only bring carry-on luggage, since the point is for the shipping company to use your checked luggage allowance.

Really Cheap Courier Flights

Sometimes air couriers fly internationally for free, and almost always very cheap. It is a matter of how badly the company needs you and how flexible you can be (can you fly to Paris on Friday?). In general air courier opportunities are becoming rarer, due to the recent heavier regulation of international flights. There still are opportunities for cheap tickets, though. You can find out more at The Air Courier Association Website (www.aircourier.org). The ACA can also help you get really cheap plane tickets by way of airline ticket wholesalers, discounters, last minute specials, and stand-by travel.

More Tips On Cheap International Plane Tickets

When searching for fares using the discount websites, try several different departure and return dates if you can. The difference of a day or two can save you a lot. There is little logic to airfare pricing, so don't try too hard to figure it out. Just be aware that if you leave on Friday instead of Wednesday (or vice-versa), you may save $100.

Check the boxes that say "any time" for departure and "2 or more connecting flights". Even if you aren't sure that you want to leave at midnight, see what your options are-the savings might change your mind. Whenever the search criteria allow you choices, take the ones that are the least restrictive for the airlines. Again, if the savings aren't enough, you can always book first class, direct flights, or whatever you prefer.

Buying your plane tickets at least a week in advance is usually cheaper. Also, there can be a dramatic difference (but not always) if your trip is over thirty days. You may want to cut it from 32 days to 30 to save hundreds of dollars on your fare. Play with the dates on one of the websites mentioned. You never know what you might discover.

Want To Go Really Cheap?

You can take a bus to a major city, if you don't live in one, and then take an international flight from there to save quite a bit of money. My wife and I recently went to Ecuador for six weeks. The cheapest discount website plane tickets we could find were $3400 for the two of us. By taking a bus to Miami ($352 round-trip for 2), then flying from there to Quito ($622 round-trip for 2), we saved over $2400 - even after the taxi fare from the bus station to the airport. That's a lot of money to us, certainly worth an extra day-and-a-half on a bus. (The whole six weeks cost less than $2500.)

The bottom line is that if you spend a few minutes or an hour to do some research, you might save hundreds of dollars. Good luck and happy travels.

Travelling To Spain - The Spanish Regional Travel Guide

Up to 60 million visitors travel to Spain every year to delight in the country’s 315 sunny days and its rich and diverse history and culture. As a result the Spanish government spend millions of Euros per year on the travel and transport infrastructure to service the country’s growing population and its ever growing numbers of visitors.

Therefore Spain has to be one of the easiest and most affordable of the world’s popular destinations in terms of its accessibility - particularly from the UK and Northern America. For example there are cheap flights available from all British airports to main and regional airports across Spain daily and direct flights from the main Spanish hubs to the US daily. As an alternative for British and European travellers there are fantastic countrywide train, coach and ferry links and great access for those who prefer to travel by car.

This article breaks down the main Spanish travel options by region.
Northern Spain – The easiest way to access this region is by plane from one of the main UK airports flying directly to Bilbao or from the US to Malaga with transfer to Bilbao. It’s possible to connect with Iberia flights for connections across the North and throughout Spain. Alsa and Eurolines have sophisticated coach networks and it’s possible to travel all the way across Europe to Bilbao or San Sebastian and then pick up local coaches or rail connections. You can also sail from the UK port of Plymouth to Santander with Brittany Ferries, or you could take the P & O route from Portsmouth to Bilbao.

Castile and La Rioja – The cheapest way to access these regions is possibly to fly to one of the main Spanish hubs – Barcelona, Bilbao or Madrid for example, and then either drive or get connecting flights. You can connect with Iberia for flights to Logrona in La Rioja or Valladolid in Castile. Castile, Rioja and Navarre are serviced by an excellent road network which makes getting around simple and again, Alsa coaches will connect you with major and minor destinations across the regions and the entire country.

Aragon, Navarre and the Pyrenees – As these regions are easily accessible by car or coach from Madrid it may be best to get a cheap flight to Madrid and then drive the E90 to the heart of the region. You could consider getting a connecting flight to Zaragoza in the middle of the region which is a good jumping off point for explorations in this stunning part of Spain. Alternatively access to this region can be made by rail or coach. Eurolines coaches will connect you with Pamplona or Zaragoza; Eurostar rail will take you from the UK to Paris and from Paris you can catch an overnight high speed rail link to Madrid…from Madrid the options are varied, from local rail and coach connections, car hire, and local flight connections with Iberia.

Costa Brava and Costa Dorada – As we move east to the beautiful Northern Catalonian coastal regions of the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada, so accessibility increases. Barcelona airport is the main airport for these regions and it welcomes cheap UK and US flights. You can then connect to Girona in the Costa Brava region or Reus in the Costa Dorada region. Barcelona itself has an underground train network for access throughout the city, and if you want to travel further afield the Spanish rail service RENFE has many mainline and local services servicing both regions. The main coastal road in Costa Brava is the A7, with the A2 taking you west away from Barcelona and the C32 taking you south from Barcelona into the Costa Dorada. Barcelona has a port with ferry services to Genoa, Rome, Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza.

Central Spain and Madrid – Central Spain’s main airport is Madrid and it welcomes direct flights from all the major UK and US airports and some of the smaller ones as well. As Madrid is such a major city you can imagine it acts as an important travel hub for the whole of Spain. Coach and rail networks and main auto routes all radiate from the city. Madrid has two main stations with trains departing for regional and international destinations, and the city has an underground metro system as well.
Costa del Azahar – The main travel hub of this region is Valencia with the city’s airport enjoying direct UK flights. To access the rest of the region you can take advantage of the RENFE services from Valencia or enjoy the city via the FGV trams and underground trains. If you want to travel from the coast to Madrid take the N430 and A3; to explore the coast take the A7. Again, Eurolines coaches operate connections to towns and cities in this region including Valencia, Sagunt and Vinaros. And last but not least, Valencia is a port city and has ferries running across the Mediterranean with destinations including Malta, Ibiza, Italy etc.

Costa Blanca – Most visitors for this region enter via Alicante airport. With the Costa Brava well serviced by roads and Alicante airport offering great car hire opportunities many people prefer to access the rest of the region by road, though RENFE, Eurolines and Alsa offer excellent rail and coach alternatives.

Costa Calida – Murcia is the main airport for this region, though Alicante airport is also accessible affording visitors and residents an extra opportunity and advantage. From Murcia there are a number of major train services including direct links to Madrid. In terms of roads, again the Costa Calida is a region with an excellent network of major roads and routes: the N340 runs from Alicante through Murcia to the Costa del Sol, the A7 hugs the coast and local, national and international coach lines service the area. In the port town of Cartagena a passenger terminal was built in 2003 which now serves as a destination for some of the major cruise liners on their way to and from destinations around France, Greece and the Black Sea Coast.

Costa de Almeria – You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to airports serving this region, you can fly to Alicante or Murcia and travel by road or rail into the region or you can fly direct to Almeria airport. The cheapest flights are often to Alicante. RENFE have mainline train services from Almeria to the city of Granada, Eurolines, Alsa and Enatcar all offer coach services across Costa de Almeria. The major routes in the region are the N340 which runs from Costa Calida through the town of Almeria and on south to the Costa del Sol, the A92 which connects with Granada and the A348 which connects Almeria with the Alpujarras. In terms of sea access, Transmediterranea have ferries from the port of Almeria to Northern Africa.

Costa del Sol and Andalucia – If you can’t get a flight to this region of Spain you must be doing something wrong – or maybe just hoping to travel during peak season! The main airport is Malaga and nearly every single airline you can think of flies from almost every single UK and US airport you can think of! If you can’t get a flight and you’re in the UK you might consider driving to the Costa del Sol! In which case your best bet would be to sail from Plymouth to Santander or from Portsmouth to Bilbao and then travel the 900 or so kilometres south. If you start off in Bilbao you’ll need the A68 and A1 to Burgos, or from Santander take the N623 to Burgos – then from Burgos travel via the N1 to Madrid. From Madrid head to Granada, from Granada head for Malaga…phew! Alternatively get a Euroline coach all the way from the UK to Estepona or Malaga or travel from Paris on the fast night train to Madrid and connect with the AVE fast train to Cordoba which in turn connects up with regional Costa del Sol services.

Costa de la Luz and Gibraltar – You can either fly to Gibraltar or Jerez in the region or make use of the many cheap flights to Spain that land in Malaga. There are ferry services between Tarifa and Algeciras in Spain and Tangiers in Morocco, bus and rail services across Europe and through Spain to the Costa de la Luz and strong road links with the E15 serving Gibraltar from the mainland.

Whatever your final destination you should be able to find cheap flights to some of Spain’s main airports and then use local and regional travel services to access your destination of choice; as I hope I’ve shown, the whole of Spain is incredibly easily accessible.

Take an Indirect Route for Discount Travel

As most of us are no doubt familiar, there is a huge fluctuation in the prices of airline tickets.
Depending on anything from season, how well traveled the route is, and other reasons that seem more mysterious, flight prices change constantly and radically.

One of the most important things to consider if you're interested in discount travel is the difference in cost between domestic and international flights, and to use this to your advantage when you want to travel internationally.
In the USA, a typical return flight from New York City to Montreal, Canada, for example costs about $300 for a trip that is just over 1 hour.

For roughly the same price, one can fly domestically across the country from New York to Los Angeles - a much longer trip.
With very few exceptions, flights are cheaper domestically - they are subject to less taxes and regulations for the airlines, and they are often on more traveled routes so the airlines can afford a discount.

So to take advantage of this - to truly get some discount travel - you should look into splitting your long international flight into 2 flights. Although it's more indirect, and a slight inconvenience, you can save a lot of money this way.

For example, if you happen to live in the northern United States and want to go to Latin or South America, you will probably find that it's a lot cheaper to first get a domestic flight to a southern hub like Miami or Dallas and then taking a second flight further south.

Even if you live in a big northern city, chances are the direct flight is going to be more. Taking two flights doesn't have to be as inconvenient as you may think.

Oftentimes, no overnight stay is required, and if your destination is a common one you may only have short delay.
When looking for discount travel solutions online, you're going to have to use a bit of creative thinking. Most discount flight searching sights are not set-up to search multiple flight routes to your destination. Rather, they are designed to show you the cheapest direct flight between the two points you want to go. So whenever you're comparing prices of a direct flight, it's always a good idea to take a look at an indirect path as well - oftentimes you will be surprised at the savings involved.

It is harder to easily compare different 2-flight routes, and the combinations involved can quickly make things complicated.
The two general rules to keep in mind when looking for savings are that you more or less want to fly as close to your destination as possible domestically, and that you want to fly between major hubs.

The cheapest of all domestic flights will always be between major hubs (as our New York to LA example shows) so if you plan your trip with that in mind it's likely you will experience significant savings.

Discount travel is as much a science as an art, and those that are good at it are able to come up with creative solutions - a great starting point for becoming an experienced discount traveler is to learn about airline hubs and patterns, and to explore taking to separate flights as opposed to one long one when traveling internationally.

Discount Travel - Eat Locally

Traveling, as many of us are no doubt aware, is one of the most enjoyable things one can do. It allows us to expand our horizons, to see how people live in other parts of the world, and to experience new things.

The problem, of course, is that traveling is one of the more expensive hobbies one can have, and unless you're fairly well off you have to look into discount travel methods in order to travel regularly.

When you're looking for discount travel solutions, one of the great tools at your disposal is to adjust your eating habits.
Besides the cost of getting to your destination and accommodation, food is going to be one of the biggest expenses on your trip.

If you eat out at restaurants a lot, or dine mostly in your hotel, you'll likely be surprised out how quickly food eats into your travel budget.

So a smart idea in terms of discount travel is to get in the habit of eating local food, and buying fresh food at markets as opposed to constantly dining out.

For example, if you're out for a day trip, stop by a supermarket and buy some healthy fresh food that you can eat on the go, so you don't have to stop at a restaurant for lunch.

In many countries you'll notice a much bigger discrepancy between the prices of fresh food and the prices of meals in restaurants then exists here in North America, so taking advantage of this can save you a lot of money.
Of course, it's not expected that you spend your entire trip eating fruit and bread while sitting on a bus - part of an enjoyable traveling experience is in dining out.

When you do dine out, however, eat in the places where locals eat - you see that it's radically cheaper. Depending where you are, a significant premium will be placed on North American-style food.

If you're willing to put aside a desire for the food that reminds you of home, your trip will be much cheaper over the long term.
Besides being advantageous in terms of discount travel, eating at local restaurants will provide you with a broader cultural experience. You'll get to try new things you'd never be able to try at home.

Plus, there's a good chance that a foreign country's interpretation of American food will be poor, so you'll probably be getting better food as well when you eat locally.

In general, avoid restaurants in touristy areas, or ones that serve things that are a radical departure from local cuisine.
Remember, especially when traveling in a second world country, that the locals have much less money, relatively, then you do, so any place that they choose to dine in you're likely to find extremely affordable.

So put your desire for a burger and fries to rest - there will be plenty of that when you get home - and experience some local culinary delights.

By doing this you will not only discover some new things, you'll be saving money that can be spent on more interesting things during your trip.

Secrets Of Cheap Travel

There are two ways to save money traveling. The first way is to get the best deals on the specific things you want. There is a limitation to this type of approach though. If , for example, you find the lowest price on the best hotel in Honolulu at the height of the season, you will save money, but still have a very expensive vacation. Trying to get exactly what you want, or what you think you want, will generally be an expensive proposition, in travel and in life.

Be A Travel Opportunist
The other approach is to be a true opportunist. This will be difficult for some of you, and entirely unacceptable to others. Nonetheless, the travelers who get to travel the most, go to the widest variety of places, learn the most and do the most, are the opportunists. This will be true until you are so wealthy that you have no monetary limits.

The first time I went to Ecuador, I went there because it was cheap. If it wasn't, I would have had a great time - somewhere else. The trip lasted a month, and cost $1045, which included airfare and even the $130 fee for a guide to take me to the top of glacier-covered Mount Chimborazo.

I cut the cost by taking a bus from my home in Michigan to Miami, and back again when I returned from Ecuador. The round-trip ticket cost $158. The round-trip flight to Quito from Miami was only $256, because it was a courier flight, which meant I signed for some luggage (car parts), and could only take carry-on luggage.

Never did I feel deprived, or bored. I had a great time, eating wherever it was cheap and clean, doing all sorts of inexpensive, but interesting things, and traveling across the country to climb Chimborazo. I also met and fell in love with my wife Ana.

How To Become An Opportunistic Traveler
Can you drink rum at a dollar per bottle, instead of your favorite beer? Can you eat chicken instead of steak? How about visiting the free sights first, and dancing in the street festival instead of the disco?

Being an opportunist means you'll have just as much variety, and probably almost everything you want - eventually. You just have to stop trying to get exactly what you want exactly when you want it. If the guide that took me up Chimborazo hadn't dropped his price from $200 to $130, I would have spent $2 for a bus and gone hiking on El Altar, another great Andean mountain. That would have left me with enough money for several other minor adventures.

More Secrets Of Cheap Travel
Plane Tickets: My wife and I were planning a trip to visit family in Ecuador. The cheapest airfare from Traverse City, Michigan to Quito, was $1720. Out of curiosity, I checked Miami to Quito, and it was only $404. Airfare from Traverse City to Miami was $300. Book two separate flights and save more than $2000! The discount sites aren't set up to search in this way (yet), so you have to do this on your own. By the way, the whole six-week trip, which we took in 2004, cost $2400, including losing $100, and being robbed of $174.

Food: Whether traveling here or in other countries, it is usually cheaper to buy some healthy snacks in a grocery store, rather than eat every meal in a restaurant. When you do eat in restaurants, it can be cheaper to to order individual items on the menu from the list of appetizers or side dishes. You also may get more variety in that way.

Accomodations: For a long trip, you may want to rent an apartment in an interesting city. We did this for two months in Tucson, for about $600 less per month, compared to even the cheaper motels. Watch for hotel coupon-books in gas stations. The coupons will often save you $10 on a room you would have stayed in anyhow. If you have a conversion van or RV, you can camp a couple nights a week, like we do, to save on motels. We love the hotsprings we've stayed at, for a $3 fee to the BLM, instead of $40 for the cheapest motel in the area.

Travel Expenses: Do more and travel less. It is often the traveling part that costs the most, due to the cost of gas, convenient fast food, and expensive hotels you are forced to pay for when you just can't drive any further. So if you find a place with a reasonable motel, and a lot to do in the area - stay for a while!

Tips For Hawaii Travel

Hawaii is a tropical paradise that is often frequented by travelers. A popular vacation, Hawaii travel has much to offer visitors. The sandy beaches and beautiful ocean views are only part of what makes Hawaii an ideal destination. Hawaii offers a great local environment and is known for their friendly hospitality. There are some important things a traveler must know before hitting the beaches in Hawaii to make their stay the best it can be.

Clothing: Hawaii has a casual atmosphere where comfort is the style. Clothing is usually loose and flowing. The climate varies throughout the islands, but this loose style will be welcomed and comfortable no matter where a traveler goes.

Weather: Hawaii usually had high’s in the 80’s and night time lows in the 60’s or 70’s throughout the year. The sun can get very strong and sunscreen protection is recommended. Rain is not too big of a hassle on the islands as the rainiest time of year is from October to May and when it does rain it does not usually do so for long periods of time.

Customs: Hawaiians are famous for their hospitality. Lei’s are given to visitors as a symbol of friendship. Hawaiian language is easy to pronounce as each syllable is simply sounded out. Romanian Travel Guide

A place that has seen political turmoil to the hardest extent but has stood the test of time. A place where mysteries unfold around every corner. Where the nature has bestowed its greatest gifts. Welcome to Romania. Until the modern history was being written Romania was mainly under the influence of the wars. Then it was gripped in the hands of the communist regimen. Despite the wraths of wraths of time the country has stood erect and today it is one of the culturally advanced and educationally pioneering countries of the world.

The historical importance of the country is established by the presence of the numerous castles all over the place. The main attraction of the tourists to this country is its magnificent castle. Build in the ancient times, they still sing the lore of the European grandeur and Romanian past. The atmosphere in them is filled with mysticism and it’s a once in a life experience that every tourists takes back. The Peles, Corvin are two of most famous castles of Romania. Conducted tours take the tourists around the castles giving them information about the historical facts.

As most European nations Romania too has a rich arts and cultural history. The architecture of the country makes it stand out form the lot. The historical curves on the famous buildings give then a unique royalty. Bucharest, the capital city, is also the cultural capital of the country. The village life of Romania is depicted in a museum dedicated to it. The Village museums answer all questions in the minds of the tourists about he rural backdrop of the country. The painted monasteries of Bucovina stand there since the 1500s and are an embodiment of the great architectural history of Romania.

It’s not hard to find great people from this European nation but one prince that has made this country a legend is of Transylvania. The Dracula is a legendry character, which has had a lasting impression on the people of all ages and backgrounds. The castle of the Dracula stands in all its magnificence in Transylvania. Myths apart it has now become one of the most urbanized areas of the country. However the mysterious sensation still keep the tourists dumbfound.

Bucharest, the capital is situated in the Wallachia region in the southern part of Romania. It has got all the political activity. It has gained world repute in the field of education. An international college for medicine is situated in Bucharest, which attracts students from all over the world. The French influence on the city is evident by the architecture on many buildings of the city. It has been christened as ‘little Paris’ due to this very reason. How ever the beauty of the planning of the city has left it look very green and silent. It’s a soothing experience to be in any Romanian city and Bucharest tops the list. One thing seldom found in Europe is found in Bucharest in abundance – legalized gambling. The city offers some of the best casino rooms and coupled with the fact that it is legal makes it a favorite among the tourists. The typical cuisine of Romania is rich with beacon and meat. The desserts also have their distinctive taste.

The country having undergone harsh times in the political oppression could not explore all possibilities of tourism. Now it is coming out with ecotourism programs to attract tourists. Way to go!

Cheap Flight Tips to Reduce Your Airfare today

Here are 14 quick tips to help you find that cheap flight and lower your airfares in the future.

**Be flexible with your potential flight dates and always plan ahead of time. Air ticket prices are highly dynamic and depend on demand, supply and competition.

**For the route you want to fly monitor the airfares for a while and try to find out the lowest published fare. Don’t accept the very first fare you find.

**Fly during 'off-peak' or 'shoulder' seasons. Do not fly during the peak time of year. (If you do make sure you book well in advance!)

**Flights that depart during the midweek (Tuesday to Thursday) tend to be cheaper. Avoid Friday and Sunday evenings and Monday morning.

**Very early morning or late evening flights are less busy - and can sometimes be cheaper than flights in the middle of the day. Peak hours when flights are at their fullest are 8 to 11am and 4 to 7pm.

**Fly on a major holiday or on the day after when demand plummets. There can be some incredible deals available. Avoid flying just before the holidays when people are travelling back home.

**Beware the infamous Saturday night stay restriction - some airlines still have this. Check your carrrier's terms and conditions.
**Many fare tariffs have a 30 day maximum stay restriction. In other words if you stay longer than 30 days the ticket will be more costly.

**Flying long-haul in business class or first class? Always get a quote on a round the world ticket and compare prices. Round-the-world business class and first class airfares are often cheaper than a full fare return trip - and you will get many more exciting stopovers for free.

**Flights with a change of plane at a connecting airport are usually cheaper than non-stop flights. You pay less for the inconvenience.

**If flying long-haul into Europe it may be cheaper to fly into a budget hub like London for 2 reasons. The first is that flights to London are often cheaper than flights travelling to other destinations on the continent. Secondly, London is a hub for a myriad of budget airlines (low-cost discount carriers) which have extensive networks all over Europe. The main two are Ryanair and Easyjet and using them can save you hundreds of dollars while allowing a high degree of flexibility in terms of one-way flights.
**If your flight is 'code shared' then check the price of the same flight with different alliance partners. There can often be considerable price differences between airlines. Taking the One World alliance as an example, you should check the price of the same flight with both American Airlines and British Airways.

**Sign up to the newsletters of your favourite airlines and travel sites. You will be the first to see any special offers and deals.
**If you are a serious traveller looking for superb insider strategies to reduce your flight costs then you really should invest in the Ultimate Airfares & Upgrades guide. This new ebook contains powerful information on lowering your airfares and flying first class and business class on a budget.

The Ultimate Airfares & Upgrades Guide is available from http://www.airtravelgenius.com. This ebook will teach you to find the lowest international airfares, how to make the most of your air miles and how to fly like a millionaire on an economy budget. Cheap International Airfare

Always looking for the cheapest way to do things, I searched several websites that claimed to have cheap international airfare. The cheapest from Traverse City, Michigan to Quito, Ecuador, was $1720. Out of curiosity, I checked Miami to Quito, and it was only $404. Airfare from Traverse City to Miami was $299. Book two separate flights and I could save more than $1000! The discount sites aren't set up to check in this way, so you have to do this on your own.

Of course, if your first flight is late and you miss the second, you may not get a refund, so plan some time between flights. In any case, it's still cheaper (every time I checked) to just book a flight to Miami and catch a flight to Quito without a reservation, thus avoiding this problem. This strategy is for those in towns without international airports. If you live in Miami, you already have cheap international airfare.

Buy Cheap Aifare Online

We've found that travel agencies just can't compete with the discount ticket websites. You can search Google ("cheap airfare Europe", for example), or go straight to one of the well-known sites, like Expedia, Travelocity, Cheap Tickets, Hotwire or Priceline.

Doing a quick search for the cheapest airfare from Tucson, Arizona, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, using the five sites mentioned, here's what I just found: They ranged from $1221 down to $873 for the lowest fares, with fares as high as $3728. Hotwire happened to be the cheapest, but they were the worst of the five when I searched for a domestic flight earlier. You cannot say which service will find the cheapest international airfare from week to week. My number one money-saving tip is to always check several websites when shopping for inexpensive flights.

Courier Flights

Courier companies ship things using the luggage space of an aircraft passenger. It can be quicker, cheaper, and more reliable than sending the shipment unaccompanied, since checked luggage bypasses many of the typical customs delays. The company purchases tickets, and then they resells them to you. In exchange for your luggage space, they give you a discount on the airfare.

I saved $160 on my plane tickets this way when I went to Ecuador the first time. I had several suitcases full of car parts, but there was a representative of the courier company on either end, and I looked inside the luggage, so I knew what I was carrying. I carried a plane propeller on the return trip, which wasn't much trouble, and made a good story.
It's easiest to be an air courier if you travel alone. Ocassionally, a courier company will have opportunities for flights on or near the same date. If not, your travel partner can pay full fare on the same flight. You also are usually allowed carry-on luggage, since the point is for the shipping company to use your checked luggage allowance.
Once in a while, air couriers fly internationally for free, and almost always very cheap. It's a matter of how badly the company needs you and how flexible you are (can you fly to London on Friday?). Air courier opportunities are becoming rarer, due to the recent heavier regulation of international flights, but there still are opportunities. Find out more at The Air Courier Association Website (www.aircourier.org). The ACA can also help you get really cheap plane tickets by way of airline ticket wholesalers, discounters, last minute specials, and stand-by travel.

More Tips For Cheap International Airfare

When searching the discount websites, try several different departure and return dates if you can. The difference of a day or two can save you a lot. There's little logic to airfare pricing, so don't try too hard to figure it out. Just be aware that if you leave on Friday instead of Wednesday (or vice-versa), you may save $100.

Check the boxes that say "any time" for departure and "2 or more connecting flights". Even if you aren't sure that you want to leave at midnight, see what your options are. The savings might change your mind. When search criteria allow you choices, first take the ones that are the least restrictive for the airlines. If the savings aren't enough, you can always book first class, direct flights, or whatever you prefer.

Buying your plane tickets two weeks in advance is usually cheaper. There can be a dramatic difference (but not always) if your trip is over thirty days. You may want to cut it from 32 days to 30 to save hundreds of dollars on your fare. Play with the dates. You never know what you might discover.

When my wife and I went to Ecuador for six weeks, the cheapest discount plane tickets we could find were $3400. Instead, we took a bus to Miami ($352 round-trip for 2), then flew from there to Quito ($622 round-trip for 2). We saved $2400. I'm not recommending this, but for us, it was worth a couple days on a bus. (The whole six weeks cost $2400.)
Spend a few minutes or an hour to do some research, if you want really cheap international airfare.

Steve Gillman hit the road at sixteen, and traveled the U.S. and Mexico alone at 17. Now 40, he travels with his wife Ana, whom he met in Ecuador. For more on cheap airfare, plus travel stories, tips and information, visit: http://www.EverythingAboutTravel.com

Discount Travel and Overcoming Obstacles

Getting away from your cares and worries by traveling to exotic places is something every human being needs to experience. Studies show that vacations make employees more productive and happier. They make students more well adjusted and they are one of the best things you can do for your psychological health.

It's obvious that people love to travel and that vacations make us better people, so why do so many vacation dreams go unfulfilled? Almost any one you ask can tell you about their dream vacation. They know where they would go and what they would do, but something always seems to be holding them back.

What stops most people from taking their ultimate fantasy vacation is cost. International and domestic travel is not usually a cheap undertaking. You have to pay for travel to and from your destination, accommodations during your stay, food, and entertainment for the duration of your trip. The cost can and does add up and this is what most people cite as the main reason their fantasy does not become a reality.

New and better ways of doing business are changing things however. Internet technology is making travel much more affordable. Discount travel sites on the Internet are enabling vacationers on even the tightest budgets to finally take the trip of a lifetime. Discount travel sites are a great source of discount vacation packages, travel vouchers, discount cruises, and more.
If you really want to maximize your travel savings, there is yet another alternative. Discount travel sites are often part of a vacation club. The sites are run by individuals as separate businesses, but they are all a part of the larger club. Sales of the club's packages and products are rewarded with greater income for the site's proprietors. There are clubs that advertise up to 75 percent savings on vacation packages for their members.

Discount Travel Business Opportunities
This is an ideal way to turn your love of travel into something that can make you money as well. Discount travel site proprietors not only earn discounts as part of the club, but they also earn excellent revenues from their site's sales. The total compensation these entrepreneurs receive in income and discounts can be extremely high.

If money is the only thing standing between you and your vacation dream, then your goal is closer at hand than you think. Discount travel sites and vacation clubs are ready and willing to help you find the best vacation deals available anywhere. These are people who are passionate about travel, just like you, and have the skills and experience to get you to where you want to go, so start packing.

Jeff Mills is a former Youth Pastor of 9 years, who is now a full time internet information entrepreneur, author, speaker, sales coach, and also an avid traveler. Jeff has passionately pursued seeking the best discount travel clubs and has discovered Coastal Vacations Travel Club to be the top of the heap. Cheap Flights Online: Hundreds if Not Thousands of Sites Selling Airfares

If you've been shopping for cheap flights online, you have encountered hundreds if not thousands of sites selling airfares. These sites are made of Mega Online agencies, Airlines, Online Airfares Specialists, Traditional Brick and Mortar (B&M) Travel agencies. Not only does this present a huge pool of resource to wad through it is compounded by the fact that there are international versions of each of these sources to find cheap international flights.

What is the best way to find a cheap international flight? First it is helpful to understand how the market for international fares works. Official "published" international airfares are largely governed by IATA (www.iata.org), a body of all major international air carriers belong to. IATA regulations forbid the direct discounting of tickets directly to passengers. IATA prices are set at high levels and results in all airlines selling at this exact same high price for international flights.

IATA prices are the most common and readily available airfare prices to all online and B&M Travel Agencies. This is the reason why you sometimes see many online travel agencies that have not only the same price for an airline, but also different airlines all having the same price for the selected flight itinerary.

If every company has the same price for flights because of IATA, how do I find a cheap international flight? International airlines have a way to get around the IATA rule against discounting airfares. IATA allows its members to offer companies known as Consolidators, airfares at a significant discount and then it looks the other way when the resellers pass some of the savings on to passengers. By selling excess capacity at reduced prices to consolidators, an airline can sell tickets that otherwise might not be sold. Consolidators then resell these tickets to some online and B&M Travel Agencies. This results in savings that can be passed on to you for cheap international flights.

Why Don’t Airlines Provide These Cheap Fares to All Travel Agencies Instead of Only to Consolidators? Consolidators are companies that buy large quantities of tickets from the major airlines at bulk prices and resell them at attractive discounts. The airlines deal with a very few number of consolidators compared to the number of online and B&M Travel Agencies. Particularly on international flights, consolidator fares are generally the best discounted airfares available.

Now that I understand how the market for consolidator fares for cheap international flights work how do I find them? Many online sites for cheap flights do not offer consolidator airfares. The main reason it is extremely complex technology to include consolidator airfares in their online booking engines. Also, many B&M Travel Agencies do not even search for consolidator fares when you contact them about looking for international airfare. In 2004 only 4% of online booking engines contained consolidator airfares. Therefore you must find these sites by searching for key words which describe consolidator airfares such as “consolidator, bulk, net and negotiated” fares.

I have found an online site that sells consolidator airfares for cheap flights, I done my search now? The simple answer is No. Firstly, like any business online or B&M Travel agencies need to make a profit. They first purchase the ticket from the wholesale consolidator and then mark up the price to you for their profit. Different agencies charge different mark ups which can vary by hundreds of dollars. Therefore, you should shop around for the best fares because once you find consolidator fares, different companies will have different mark ups for the exact same flight.

Consolidator fares will save you between 10 to 70% on international flights and therefore it is one of the best ways to save money when you travel.

Thailand – The Land of Smiles and Cheap Travel

Thailand is known as the land of smiles, which is amazing considering the traffic jams in Bangkok. For budget travelers, Thailand simply can’t beat on price alone.

Thailand
Thailand is an odd mix of contrasts. It can be extremely stressful while trying to get around in Bangkok and gloriously relaxing while laying on practically any of the beaches that populate the coast of the country. Regardless of the situation, the Thais have a habit and custom or smiling regardless of what you ask or how you ask it.

Beaches
The beaches of Thailand need no introduction. Used as the setting for hundreds of movies, they come in a variety of styles. The beaches of Phuket and Phi Phi fall along the lines of traditional beach resort areas like you might find in a place such as Cancun, Mexico or Tamarindo, Costa Rica. On the other end of the scale, you can find more rustic beach areas in places like the island of Ko Chang where you’ll have a few beach bungalows, a couple of bars and one or two stores. If you’re looking for a little of both styles, just ask around.

Da North
Infatuated with the beach life, many people fail to head up country when in Thailand. This is a mistake as the north is the host to such locations as the city of Chang Mai, the Summer Palace of the King of Thailand and interesting little villages. For the outdoor enthusiasts, rafting, hiking and mountain biking are very popular and widely available.

Prices
If you’re on a budget, Thailand is a perfect travel destination. For some reason, flights to Thailand are particularly cheap with my recent flight on Korean Airlines running roughly $650 round trip. Once in country, your money will go a long, long way.
I think a note of caution is need at this point. Please beware. If you decide to take a trip to Thailand, you won’t want to come back to your native country. You will, however, definitely come back to Thailand!
